Essential fatty acids are involved in various important functions in the body. Horses and ponies can make two important substances from ALA (alpha-linolenic acid): EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid).

EPA is important, among other things, for the heart, blood vessels and respiratory tract and for communication between nerve cells.

DHA has a major influence on the proper functioning of the brain, which mainly consists of fats with a high concentration of DHA. As a result, DHA from omega 3 influences the animal's behavior. Sufficient DHA ensures good concentration and better learning performance. Due to the presence of DHA in omega 3, this fatty acid is recommended during pregnancy and lactation.

ALA mainly comes from plant sources, such as linseed (oil) and grass. It can be converted into EPA and DHA in the liver through several steps. Algae oil is a great source of DHA.

For horses, ALA is the most important source of omega-3 fatty acids. Horses that do not have access to fresh pasture grass should be able to obtain it from other sources.

How to use?
Shake before use.
Horses and ponies: 10 ml twice a day (= 2 pumps)
If there is a clear improvement, switch to administering the above amount once a day.
